Steak with warm new potato and rocket salad: Nigel Slater??? Recipe file
- 2 handfuls of new potatoes
- large, thick cut rump or rib-eye steak
- 1 tab capers
- 1 tab Dijon mustard
- Balsamic vinegar
- small bunch of tarragon, chopped
- Olive oil
Boil the potatoes in salty water until just tender.
Meanwhile, grill the steak as briefly as you can stand.
While the steak rests, slice then dress the still warm potatoes with capers, Dijon mustard, shake of balsamic vinegar and tarragon.
Carve the steak into thin slices across the grain, and toss it through the potatoes with the rocket, salt and olive oil.
Made the day we went to Barnes Wetland Centre and saw ducks, both real and made of lego.
